- New retail development to provide a better shopping environment within Seaton and the opportunity to regenerate existing shopping streets and reverse the leakage of expenditure that goes to other settlements.
- A new square providing a focal point for the town.
- Capital contributions towards a community facility and major tourist attractions including the Jurassic Coast Visitors’ Centre, Seaton Wetland Nature Reserve and SUSTRANS/Wessex Way cycle terminus.
- Attraction of significant numbers of residents and tourists to Seaton with expenditure benefits to the economy of the town.
- Replacement where necessary of employment land lost for housing purposes.
- Enhancement of Seaton’s economy through new residents, tourist facilities and an attractive entrance to the town.
- Well designed sustainable development.
- New Hotel and Restaurant.
These proposals will kick start the regeneration of Seaton by bringing new tourists and generate wealth and prosperity for the Town. They will also replace community facilities and contribute towards important social provision.
